Where Rilka began
Started in our living room in NSW.
It started in our kitchen
After cleansing I was finding water based creams didn’t last on my skin and I was constantly re-applying. So I started mixing my own oils... literally in the kitchen.
And then our Sauna facility
I started making batches for members at my sauna facility (Saunaus, in Wollongong), and everyone loved it. That's when I knew I was onto something.
And so, Rilka began
Small batches, blended and bottled by hand in NSW. Plant, fruit and seed oils with naturally derived fragrance, nothing else.
A note from the founder
Born in a kitchen, not a lab
I didn't set out to start a skincare brand... I just couldn't pay for water anymore.
I couldn't shower or swim without reaching for moisturiser straight after... skin crawling, stretching, itching. The deep-nourishing creams never lasted past lunch.
So I started blending pure plant oils in my kitchen. Later I poured them for guests at our sauna and ice-bath retreat (see our retreat here). Then I realised it was time to launch this for more to try.
Now I pour them for you, by hand, never by a button in a factory.
